Welcome to The Garret Club

For over a century now, the club has been a lovely gathering place of accomplished women who enjoy each other's company and pursue interests in arts and learning. The Club is proud of its rich history and maintains a strong commitment to the Garret's tradition of adopting to change while maintaining a congenial and stimulating atmosphere for members to enjoy a diverse array of programs and activities.

Lecture Dinners - The club annually presents a marquee lecture series that has featured fascinating speakers such as U.S. Representative from New York, Brian Higgins; SUNY Distinguished Professor of Neurology and Radiology and Founder of the Jacobs Institute, Dr. L. Nelson Hopkins, MD, FACS; U.S. Justice Department Counterterrorism Attorney Courtney Sullivan; Buffalo Philharmonic Music Director, JoAnn Falletta; Buffalo News Sports Writer, Jerry Sullivan;  Albright Knox Director, Dr. Janne Sirén; Criminal Defense Attorney, Cheryl Meyers Buth; Dottie Gallagher-Cohen, CEO, Buffalo Partnership; and Jenna Ricker, Director, movie "The American Side" just to name a few.

Dining - In addition to the Chef's inventive daily lunch menu, the club hosts a variety of themed dinner nights and cocktail parties. Members and their guests enjoy elegant evening events including monthly First Tuesday Dinners, Thursday Evening Cocktails and Bistro Nights, Summer Lobster Dinners, Wine Pairing Dinners, a Holiday Dinner Dance and the Valentine's Dinner.

Programs - The club offers enriching educational seminars, health and wellness programs, fine art shows, workshops and luncheons featuring talks by regional artists, a holiday artisan boutique, a lively fashion show, a very special Mother's Day brunch, our popular investment and book clubs, competitive bridge and Mah Jongg programs, croquet, a lending library and other activities that enhance the professional and leisure interests of our active Garret members.

Travel - Our members travel for business and pleasure. The Garret has attractive reciprocal privileges with New York's Colony and Cosmopolitan Clubs, London's Sloane Club, Boston's Chilton Club, San Francisco's Metropolitan Club, Washington D.C.'s Sulgrave Club, Chicago's Women's Athletic Club, Philadelphia's Acorn Club, and Santa Barbara's Little Towne Club.

Members - Current members of The Garret are represented by active and retired accountants, artists, attorneys, bankers, businesswomen, community activists, a retired county legislator, doctors, ministers, a retired school board member, teachers, a retired judge, an opera singer, and university professors.

Friendship - Woven throughout life at The Garret are the cherished lifelong friendships made by our members.
